
Senior Operations Manager, Energy Program

Reports to: Director of Westchester Power
Location: Mount Kisco, NY / Hybrid. Travel within Westchester County and New York State is required, with occasional availability needed for nights and weekends.
Description:
The Senior Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Westchester Power program, managing program staff and coordinating with cross-functional teams including marketing, outreach, operations, and IT. This role is a critical liaison to municipal and community stakeholders, energy suppliers, and technology partners. The ideal candidate will bring a deep commitment to community empowerment, climate action, and operational excellence. This position requires flexibility to attend and/or present at evening and occasional weekend meetings and events. The Senior Operations Manager reports to the Westchester Power Program Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring timely execution of tasks and adherence to State rules and regulations and established protocols.
- Supervise junior program staff, providing guidance, training, and support for optimal performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, energy suppliers, and technology vendors to facilitate program operations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to address program needs effectively.
- Monitor and participate in internal and supplier customer service operations, ensuring coverage matches demand and implementing quality control measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Engage with non-participating municipalities to encourage program enrollment, overseeing outreach efforts and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure that the program's website is compliant with applicable rules and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with data security requirements and efficient handling of customer information.
- Coordinate with suppliers and other vendors providing program-specific services, tracking deliverables and financial transactions.
- Prepare and submit required reports to state regulators and community officials, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Plan and execute promotional events, enhancing the program's visibility and community engagement.
- Coordinate with other programs within Sustainable Westchester to optimize synergy and compatibility among programs.
- Support the Program Director in the development of innovative initiatives for the further development of the program.
- Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes, attending relevant workshops and maintaining professional networks.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust the annual operating plan in coordination with program goals and objectives.
- Manage departmental budgets and provide regular reports on financial status to the Program Director.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, operations, or project management, preferably in the nonprofit, clean energy, or startup sectors.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of managing complex projects to successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience working with or for municipalities or in public-sector partnerships.
- Familiarity with New York State’s energy markets, CCA policy, and energy efficiency programs strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM and project management tools; experience with Salesforce and Asana a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across a diverse stakeholder base.
- Experience in community engagement, especially with environmental justice or underrepresented communities, is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as required.

Salary:
$80,000
