Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Job Overview: Sustainment is seeking a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Supply Chain Solutions team to focus on building and maintaining world class supply chains for our customers. This role is a perfect opportunity for a supply chain professional who is interested in being a part of a fast-paced company that is creating supply chain solutions across a variety of industries. In this role, you will be a part of our strategic sourcing team that provides white glove supply chain services to a variety of customers. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain Solutions, and works closely with sales, product success, and our manufacturing solutions group.
We are headquartered out of Austin, TX. This role is eligible for hybrid work in Austin, TX, Fort Worth, TX or Oklahoma City, OK. This role may require in office work up to 3 days a week.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing or direct materials sourcing or procurement for the aerospace, defense or automotive industry
- In lieu of degree: 9+ years of experience in sourcing or direct materials sourcing or procurement for the aerospace, defense or automotive industry
- Experience running large projects and sourcing a wide variety of parts or assemblies at a given time
- Contract negotiation experience (Terms and Conditions such as Limitation of Liability, Warranty, Indemnification, IP, security, pay terms, etc.)
- Knowledge of supplier capability requirements for machining, injection molding and additive manufacturing processes
- Ability to identify potential suppliers by reviewing technical documentation
- Creative problem solving skills and comfortable with autonomy. Must be open to mentoring junior members of the team
- Desire to create and own complex workflows and tasks
- Comfort working across unique products in different industries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics
- Ability to travel up to 40% required
