
Statistical Reporting Analyst I or II
Sutton National Group (“Company”), a rapidly growing national property and casualty insurance carrier group, seeks a Statistical Reporting Supervisor (“Position”) to become a member of the Company’s regulatory and statistical reporting team.
The Position will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of detail and aggregate data to external regulatory bodies. Ideal candidates must be proactive, experienced, and able to adapt quickly to a fast-paced highly collaborative environment and must have the desire and knowledge to grow with the Company. They must be a driven and motivated problem solver, ready to take an active role in the day-to-day execution of tasks and management of key priorities to advance the Company’s overall mission. This position has seasonal peaks and will require additional hours of work during those periods.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate submissions of data calls and statistical data to state insurance departments, independent workers’ Compensation Bureaus, statistical service agencies, and other statutory and regulatory entities.
- Review and interpret regulatory reporting requirements and / or changes and analyze the impact of such requirements.
- Determine regulatory reporting requirements for new product offerings and collaborate with the team to ensure required data fields are obtained.
- Reconcile submission to data sources to ensure completeness and accuracy of submission. Investigate and resolve variances.
- Perform necessary data corrections when requested by a reporting entity. Analyze the reason for the correction and put in place corrective actions to prevent it from re-occurring in the future.
- Respond to correspondence from Regulators, Partners, Third Party Administrators, and Internal Customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain detailed procedures for data calls, statistical reports, and all other processes completed.
- Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
- Lead ad-hoc projects on an as needed basis.
- Make decisions within identified scope of responsibility.
- Conform with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain organized and up to date files for all work products, materials, and resources associated with the Position.
- Knowledge and experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry. Completed insurance coursework / designations are a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical agencies and an understanding of the uses for statistical data within the insurance industry.
- Statistical & Data reporting and compliance work experience in a property and casualty insurance setting is preferred.
- Ability to learn insurance business functions, including related reporting and terminology nuances and objectives.
- Ability to learn and work with computer tools for the retrieval and manipulation of relevant data/information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to track, prioritize and complete multiple deadlines and projects.
- Property & Casualty annual checklist experience is a plus.
- Team player and motivated problem solver.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) as well as a comfort level with remote access to counterparty systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be a self-starter that can adapt quickly and execute projects without close supervision
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and/or work experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the P&C insurance industry in a similar role
- Knowledge of Statutory Financial Statements (Annual statements, Statutory page 14’s, and Insurance Expense Exhibits) preferred.
- Basic Accounting knowledge or experience preferred.
- Specialized in a specific line of business (workers compensation, automobile, homeowners, surplus lines, etc)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Completed insurance coursework or designations is a plus.

Compensation: The target base pay for this role is estimated to be $80,000 plus annual bonus. Actual compensation may vary based on candidate experience and geographical location.
