Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Cutter Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and maintaining laser cutting machinery. Experience with BOSS laser machines and Light burn Program. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication process, ensuring precision and quality in all cut parts while collaborating closely with designers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain laser cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety protocols are followed
  • Set up machines for different materials and project specifications, including proper calibration and tooling
  • Create cut files using Adobe Illustrator based on provided artwork, ensuring accurate representation for cutting processes
  • Monitor cutting processes, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as necessary to achieve quality results
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and design files to prepare and execute cutting operations accurately
  • Develop cutting solutions based on limited direction, taking into account the constraints and limitations of the bed size of the laser cutter
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure safety assess condition of parts and replace
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs, materials used, and any issues encountered during the cutting process

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Laser Cutter Technician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cutting technologies
  • Familiarity with various materials (e.g., metal, plastic, wood) and their cutting properties. Log optimal cut settings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and quality assurance


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CNC based programming or operation
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to laser cutting
  • Familiarity with software (Lightburn) used for generating cutting paths and managing machine operations
