Pay Scale: $150,000–$180,000 per year (base pay)

Work arrangement: On-site

Team: Office of the CEO

Reports to: Chief of Staff

The Role

Sweet James is seeking a Manager of Strategy & Operations to work alongside the Chief of Staff on the highest-priority problems facing the firm. This is an execution seat, not an advisory one: you will own initiatives from diagnosis through implementation and be measured on what changes in the business, not on the quality of the recommendation. Assignments rotate across contact center and operational performance, organizational design, technology and product initiatives, and the growth priorities the executive team needs solved, with a path to owning a function or domain outright as the firm scales. The work suits a generalist equally comfortable building the model, running the project, and persuading a function to change how it works.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose performance: Identify where the business is underperforming, structure the problem, and define what success looks like.
  • Build the analysis: Construct the models, size the opportunities, and build the business cases that inform executive decisions; pull and interrogate your own data.
  • Deliver the result: Run the implementation yourself, through to the operating change and the measured outcome.
  • Move work across functions: Drive progress where you hold no formal authority, earning credibility with operators by understanding their work before changing it.
  • Institutionalize what works: Convert delivered initiatives into repeatable systems and hand them to the function that will own them.
  • Advance technology and product priorities: Partner with engineering and product leadership on prioritization, roadmap, and delivery.
  • Communicate to the executive team: Translate analysis into crisp recommendations for the Chief of Staff, the CEO, and the executive team.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in management consulting at a top-tier firm, business operations or strategy at a high-growth company, corporate transformation, or a private equity operations group.
  • Strong quantitative and modeling ability: You build the model yourself and can defend every assumption in it.
  • Demonstrated ability to move work forward across functions without formal authority.
  • Structured problem-solving paired with genuine blue-sky thinking: You can frame an ambiguous problem and also imagine a materially different answer to it.
  • Discretion and maturity: This role sits inside sensitive commercial, organizational, and strategic matters.

Preferred

  • Experience leading a small team or workstream as an engagement manager, project leader, or equivalent.
  • Engagements where compensation or fees were tied to delivered results, or where you stayed through implementation rather than handing off at the recommendation.
  • Academic or professional grounding in analytics, computer science, or engineering.
  • Technology clients or employers in software development, with working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Rapidly scaling businesses in a growth context.

Benefits

  • Benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • FSA or HSA option, depending on the selected medical plan
  • 401(k) with 2% match after 90 days
  • Paid time off (PTO) policy and paid holidays
  • Ongoing mentorship, leadership support, and professional development and career advancement opportunities
