About the role

As a Finance and Accounting Operations Associate, you will assist the Head of Finance and the rest of the Finance team with finance, accounting and operations tasks. The work spans accounting schedules, month-end close, invoicing and collections, payroll, cap table administration and board preparation.

We are looking for someone smart, resourceful, hands-on and self-motivated, problem solver mindset, with very strong attention to financial and operational detail and a desire to learn advanced accounting rules and procedures. This is a starting point for growing into a broader finance role.

What you'll do

Accounting and close

  • Prepare accounting schedules in Excel, including reserves for doubtful accounts and employee bonus reserves.
  • Prepare depreciation, amortization and prepaid asset schedules.
  • Assist with month-end close, audit, financial filings, insurance and payroll.


Revenue and receivables

  • Assist with preparing and sending client invoices.
  • Assist with accounts receivable accounting and collections.
  • Prepare variable compensation schedules for the sales team.


Planning and analysis

  • Prepare financial analyses in Excel under the guidance of the Head of Finance.
  • Assist with updates to budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with accounts payable and treasury management.


Equity, board and investors

  • Assist with cap table and equity management.
  • Assist with preparation for board meetings and board consents.
  • Assist with investor reporting.


Operations and administrative support

  • Provide administrative support to the Financial Controller, the Head of Finance, the COO and the CEO.
  • Handle sensitive information, including personnel matters, with discretion and professionalism.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and help implement operational systems.
  • Take on ad hoc finance, accounting and operations tasks

What we're looking for

Required

  • 2 to 3 years in finance, accounting or financial operations. Financial analyst, accounting assistant and controller assistant backgrounds all apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
  • Excel and Google Sheets, including experience working with financial models.
  • QuickBooks Online.
  • A payroll platform such as TriNet, ADP, Gusto or JustWorks.

Compensation: $90,00- $120,000 base salary + equity stock options.
