POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the National Account Manager (NAM) to play a critical role in advancing our growth strategy within the life sciences consulting industry. This role is responsible for both new client acquisition and strategic expansion of existing accounts, with a focus on building long-term partnerships across large pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.
As a key member of our Commercial team, the NAM will work cross-functionally with technical subject matter experts and delivery teams to co-develop high-impact, science-based solutions across Regulatory, CMC, Quality, and Clinical domains. A strong technical foundation, preferably in Chemistry or another life sciences discipline, is essential to credibly engage with scientific and operational stakeholders, while business acumen and commercial agility are required to close deals and grow revenue.
This role requires a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, deep familiarity with the pharma and biotech and up to 75% travel.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Key Responsibilities:
- New Logo Acquisition:
- Identify, target, and secure new clients within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences services ecosystem.
- Develop prospecting strategies, lead qualification processes, and customized pitches aligned with client needs and our technical capabilities.
- Drive the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through to proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Account Expansion:
- Serve as the strategic relationship owner for key national accounts, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and growth across multiple business lines.
- Lead account planning and execution to expand service lines, deepen engagements, and build multi-year, cross-functional partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities and align client needs with the full breadth of the organization’s offerings.
- Client Engagement and Commercial Strategy:
- Partner with technical SMEs and delivery leaders to design solution-oriented proposals that integrate scientific expertise with client business objectives.
- Manage offshore delivery coordination and ensure global alignment in execution quality, timelines, and client communication.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs), track client satisfaction, and maintain long-term strategic account roadmaps.
- Sales Execution and Forecasting:
- Consistently meet or exceed individual revenue targets, pipeline milestones, and business development KPIs.
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, activity reporting, and forecasting in CRM systems.
- Analyze client and market data to inform commercial strategies, pricing models, and account prioritization.
- Market Insight and Collaboration:
- Serve as the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders, helping to shape marketing messages, service development, and operational strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to position the company competitively and proactively.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Sales Operations, and Delivery teams to enable commercial success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology); MS, PhD, or MBA a plus.
Technical Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in business development, account management, or client services within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.
- Proven track record in new client acquisition and expanding strategic accounts, ideally within a consulting or outsourced services setting.
- Experience selling to global pharma/biotech accounts, including working with procurement, technical, and scientific leaders.
- Strong grasp of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle and associated technical services.
- Experience coordinating with offshore delivery teams and managing global service execution.
