POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibilities of a Senior Accountant include, but are not limited to, accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of revenue accounts as well as the monthly close of accounting operations.

WORK LOCATION:

The Senior Accountant position is eligible for hybrid work with in-office requirement at Syner-G's Framingham, MA office.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the accounts payable processes, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and ensuring prompt payment of invoices to suppliers, vendors, etc.
  • Review employee credit card and expense report transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the processing and recording of the bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles.
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of accrued expenses. Ability to work with other departments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.
  • Perform month-end close process for accounts payable and accrued expenses.
  • Prepare monthly expense analyses, including updating monthly expense forecasting.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of accounting processes, policies, and controls.
  • Work with external auditors on year-end audit and external tax firm on annual tax return.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to operationalize and improve systems and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting is required.
  • CPA license preferred.

Technical Experience:

  • 3 plus years of relevant accounting experience, showing progressive advancement.
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes, specifically around accounts payable.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve proactively.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment; strong collaborator and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple tasks concurrently, adapt to changing priorities, and to meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and willing to take on unfamiliar tasks.
