POSITION OVERVIEW:
Syner-G is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to provide technical support, coordination, and oversight across capital projects involving facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and construction activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring engineering deliverables, field execution, and project documentation align with project requirements, safety standards, and client expectations. The Sr. Project Engineer works closely with project managers, construction teams, design engineers, operations, procurement, and client stakeholders to support design reviews, technical evaluations, field engineering activities, and project controls. We are actively seeking qualified candidates to join our talent pipeline for future client engagements. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and closing turnover packages for Clean and Black Utility systems in support of commissioning, qualification, and startup activities. This role ensures systems are mechanically complete, properly documented, and transitioned efficiently from Construction to CQV and Site Operations.
WORK LOCATION:
Travel to client sites may be required based on project demands and client expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide technical support and engineering coordination across capital projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, project requirements, and construction execution plans.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Lead or support field engineering activities including site walks, equipment verification, installation oversight, and issue resolution.
- Assist with development and maintenance of project schedules by tracking engineering deliverables, construction progress, and technical dependencies.
- Support project controls activities including cost tracking, quantity verification, procurement coordination, and change documentation.
- Coordinate with design firms, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of technical questions and engineering issues.
- Prepare engineering logs, technical reports, meeting minutes, and action item trackers.
- Support commissioning and turnover activities including punch list development, equipment testing coordination, and documentation review.
- Assist with risk identification, issue tracking, and mitigation planning across engineering and construction workstreams.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
- Support development of engineering documentation including work plans, technical summaries, and engineering packages.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers or project coordinators when applicable.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, field coordination practices, and project documentation standards.
- Develop and manage turnover packages (TOPs) for utility systems including WFI, PW, Clean Steam, HVAC, Compressed Air, Nitrogen, Chilled Water, Plant Steam, and Electrical Coordinate Mechanical Completion (MC) with Construction and Contractors
- Ensure redlines, as-builts, P&IDs, vendor documentation, and test records are complete and accurate
- Track system boundaries, tag lists, punch items, and turnover milestones
- Partner with Engineering, Construction, CQV, Automation, and Quality teams
- Support walkdowns, punch resolution, and system readiness reviews
- Drive schedule alignment between Construction completion and CQV start
- Maintain turnover trackers and provide status reporting to project leadership
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, industrial, or related discipline) required.
- EIT certification or progress toward licensure is preferred.
Technical Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience supporting capital projects, construction projects, facility upgrades, or engineering design efforts.
- Experience working in regulated or complex environments such as biotech, pharmaceutical, industrial, or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong familiarity with engineering design processes, construction coordination, technical documentation, and field engineering activities.
- Experience collaborating with design engineers, construction teams, procurement, operations, and safety personnel.
- Experience supporting project phases such as design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, or turnover.
- Experience managing multiple engineering tasks or workstreams is preferred.
- Experience with GMP clean utilities and central plant systems
- Experience supporting Mechanical Completion, Turnover, and CQV lifecycle
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of system boundaries, P&IDs, and construction documentation
- Familiarity with VMP, URS, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ interfaces
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with engineering and project management tools, CAD viewers, and standard office software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting project needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support field issue resolution and technical decision-making.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and cross-functional partners.
