Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer -Project Manager

We are seeking a Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager to join either our Washington DC, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA office.  As a Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining project efficiency and project quality while communicating regularly with Client Leader and periodically with various project managers.

Job Responsibilities

As the Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the function of projects. Must take ownership of the client’s and the firm’s project goals for those projects assigned to him/her in terms of project contract management, understanding and managing client expectations, tight project schedule control, controlling and optimizing project financials including billing and collections, and ensuring optimal project information flow (internally and externally). Must work closely with trade specific project engineers to ensure all the items above are delivered in a coordinated product. Develop staff skills like project management.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Deliver project(s) schedule and budget.
• Establishes project budgets and schedules.
• Ensure QC process is in practice.
• Participates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.
• Communicate regularly with Client Leader - Project managers of other services who may be managing another project for the same client.
• Maintain project efficiency.
• Maintain client satisfaction - externally and internally.
• Assume responsible charge for the overall economic wellbeing of the assigned projects.
• Conduct business development activities.
• Conducts due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establishes design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Designs large projects, prepares reports and specifications, and provides a very high level of technical leadership.
• Networks within SHG and outside.
• Performs “Engineer of Record” duties for projects. 
• Performs calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration.
  • Performs staff resource management and review.
• Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
• Provides consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports.
• Pursues continuing education.
• Represents Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
• Take responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline, addressing any E & O issues.

Job Requirements

Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical discipline
• 12+ years of relevant experience in the MEP industry.
• PE is required.
• Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role
