
Deputy Sector Lead
Location: on-site in Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA
This position requires a deep understanding of defense and intelligence markets, a desire to develop and transition technology for mission, and the ability to build teams, communicate effectively, and collaborate across STR business divisions. The Deputy Sector Lead role requires past experience as a program manager and/or business area lead in business operations, program execution, and business development.
The Deputy Sector Lead will:
- Provide direct support to the Sector Lead in day-to-day business operations; execution, marketing, staffing and personnel management, financial and administrative management, and STR-internal coordination activities
- Engage with and enable the Sector’s business area leads
- Participate in Sector business strategy development, including expanding STR’s business base and assessing new markets. Understand market trends, identify new customers and their key mission needs, develop innovative ideas for differentiated offerings, and assess business risks
- Support the development of multi-year strategy and associated business and technology roadmaps
- Support Sector lead in overseeing program portfolio execution, internal budget management, and development and implementation of technical, financial and risk management tools
Requirements
- A successful track record of developing and executing advanced technology solutions for national security customers. Strong candidates will have a network of professional relationships in relevant customer organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, plus 10+ years experience leading a business area within the defense industry
- Technical generalist and systems-level thinker
- Deep understanding of existing DoD and IC national security markets of interest and competitive landscape
- Active TS/SCI
