
Tax & Compliance Analyst
Job Summary
STR is seeking a Tax & Compliance Analyst to play a key role in ensuring tax, government compliance, and insurance functions run smoothly while contributing to process improvements that drive efficiency. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering with Finance, Contracts, Program Managers, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and smooth audit processes. The Tax & Compliance Analyst will work closely with and report to the Tax & Compliance Lead.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform monthly federal and state tax analyses and reconcile tax accounts
- Calculate quarterly income tax estimates for financial reporting purposes
- Prepare and file property and local tax returns, business registrations and surveys
- Support external tax advisors in preparing and filing federal and state income tax returns
- Monitor federal, state, and local tax law changes, and attend relevant tax training
- Support government compliance with federal government contracting requirements to ensure the company’s cost accounting practices meet the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), including the support of government audits, preparation of billing rates proposals and incurred cost submissions
- Review and document revenue recognition methods to ensure compliance with ASC 606 in partnership with Program Finance and Accounting
- Monitor business insurance program including the assessment of insurance requirements, processing renewals and claims processing
- Support internal policy updates, identifying process improvements and automation initiatives
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 2 – 3 years of experience in tax, compliance, audit, or finance
- Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, DCAA audits, or ASC 606 is a plus
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance, if required

Salary range: $90-$100k
