
Senior Software Systems Integration & Test Engineer
Sophisticated integrated systems play a critical role in national security efforts, facilitating an understanding of the global situation, strategic planning, and tactical execution. STR’s Systems Development Division (SDD) and Analytics and Command & Control (AC2) focuses on developing advanced technology solutions to provide asymmetric advantages within the information domain. SDD executes the entire lifecycle of the solution, from conceptualization and architecture refinement through implementation and deployment, while leveraging novel technologies to deliver first-of-a-kind systems. Current efforts include programs for airborne and space sensors and advanced operations enabled by multi-function, multi-modal capabilities. In this role you will be exposed to key operations, users, and technology that have strategic impact on AF operations.
As a Senior Software Systems Integration & Test Engineer, you will integrate and test software implementing complex systems into customer owned software test/ops deployment environments.
What you will do:
- Participate in test planning & test events, requirements reviews, code reviews, and architecture/software implementation reviews to improve code quality and maintainability
- Perform integration testing to ensure seamless interaction between different system components
- Conduct performance testing to ensure the system meets performance and scalability requirements
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve them
- Assist in configuration and maintenance of DevOps environments & pipelines at multiple classification levels, focusing on developer productivity, application performance, security monitoring, and alerting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, and reliable, in compliance with program requirements and Government standards
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks for Java applications
- Document pipeline architectures and user processes to modify and update pipelines
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for software testing and quality assurance
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing lifecycle
Requirements:
- The position requires an active Top Secret TS/SSBI security clearance (with SCI eligibility) with the ability to obtain SAP clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by the U.S. Government.
- Prior experience working SAP programs is required
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field with 5+ years of related experience
- Proven experience as an Integration and Test Engineer, with a focus on Java applications
- Strong knowledge of Java, third-party software frameworks, and related technologies (e.g., Spring)
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) including the use of GitLab, CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools in software development processes
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Selenium)
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable working with Java and high-level programming languages
Nice to haves:
- Hold an advanced degree in a related technical field
- Have domain expertise in one or more of the following areas: electronic warfare, antenna apertures, sensor resource planning/management, large-scale platform test systems, cyber physical systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $134,000 - $184,000
The salary range listed is based on external market data. Final offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
