Senior Applications Administrator

Woburn, MA

We are seeking an experienced Senior Applications Administrator to help manage and maintain our critical business applications infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our enterprise collaboration and development platforms including GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Teamwork Cloud, Syndeia, and related systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

Application Management & Maintenance 

  • As part of a team to administer and maintain key Enterprise Applications such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Teamwork Cloud, and Syndeia platforms 
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and version upgrades across all applications 
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal uptime 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner 

Configuration & Optimization 

  • Configure and customize applications to meet organizational needs 
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls 
  • Optimize system performance and resource utilization 
  • Develop and maintain integration between various platforms 
  • Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures 

Security & Compliance 

  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all applications 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards 

Support & Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders on system requirements 
  • Participate in change management and release planning processes 
  • Work with vendors and support teams to resolve complex issues 
  • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures 

Required Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 7+ years of experience in systems administration or similar role 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise application management 

Technical Skills 

  • Required: 
  • Strong experience with GitLab administration (repositories, CI/CD pipelines, runners) 
  • Proficiency with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) administration 
  • Linux/Unix & Windows system administration 
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, proxies) 
  • Database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) 
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) 

Strongly Preferred: 

  • Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes) 
  • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) 
  • Experience with Teamwork Cloud and  Syndeia platforms 
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • LDAP/Active Directory integration 
  • API integration and REST services 

Soft Skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Customer service orientation

Pay Information 

Full-Time Salary Range:  $130,000 to $175,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
