About the Role

STR is seeking an experienced Temporary Technical Recruiter to support hiring for mission-critical defense and national security programs. This role is responsible for full lifecycle recruiting across a mix of cleared and uncleared technical positions, partnering closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to identify and attract highly specialized talent.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical recruiting experience within defense, aerospace, government contracting, or national security environments and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. This individual should be highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and capable of independently managing complex requisitions while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.

This is a temporary/contract position with the potential to support surge hiring initiatives, critical program growth, and specialized technical recruiting needs.

What You’ll Do

Full Lifecycle Technical Recruiting

Own the end-to-end recruiting process for assigned requisitions, from intake and sourcing through offer acceptance. Manage a mix of cleared and uncleared roles while ensuring hiring plans align with technical requirements, clearance constraints, and business priorities.

Strategic Sourcing & Pipeline Development

Develop and execute advanced sourcing strategies to identify high-caliber technical candidates through direct outreach, referrals, networking, niche job boards, and targeted search techniques. Build and maintain pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill skill areas to support both immediate and future hiring needs.

Hiring Manager Partnership

Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to understand organizational needs and technical skill requirements. Provide guidance regarding labor market conditions, candidate availability, compensation expectations, and recruiting timelines.

Candidate Engagement & Experience

Serve as an ambassador for STR’s culture, mission, and values throughout the recruiting process. Ensure candidates receive a professional, transparent, and positive experience from initial outreach through onboarding while maintaining proactive communication and managing expectations effectively.

Offer Management & Closing

Lead offer preparation and closing activities, including compensation discussions, approval coordination, offer presentation, and negotiation support. Navigate competing offers and clearance-related complexities while balancing candidate expectations with internal equity and business needs.

Interview Coordination & ATS Excellence

Utilize Greenhouse, Outlook, and related tools to coordinate interviews, maintain accurate candidate documentation, track recruiting activity, and ensure an organized and efficient interview experience for candidates and hiring teams.

Compliance & Process Integrity

Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies, OFCCP requirements, and applicable federal contractor regulations. Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and support hiring manager awareness of recruiting compliance expectations.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with recruiters, HR partners, and business leaders to share best practices, improve recruiting workflows, and enhance overall hiring effectiveness. Contribute to process improvements that strengthen candidate quality, hiring speed, and overall experience.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
