Commercial Contracts Attorney — Legal AI Consultant
About TAC
TAC is the next-generation AI-native law firm for startups.
Uniting an expert lawyer network with AI-assisted legal review, TAC specializes in commercial contracts — MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, order forms, amendments, and renewals — and helps legal, sales, and business teams turn redlines into revenue faster and more consistently.
Our clients include Siemens, Viasat, and other leading companies. TAC is led by alumni from Meta, Amazon, Google, Robinhood, Anduril, MIT, Harvard, Oxford, and Berkeley, and is backed by investors from Greycroft, Conviction, South Park Commons, and other leading firms.
About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Commercial Contracts Attorney — Legal AI Consultant to help improve how TAC delivers real-world commercial contract review workflows. As part of a fast-moving, world-class team, you’ll evaluate product flows, review AI-generated suggestions, identify gaps in contract review logic, and translate practical legal workflow knowledge into product feedback.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how commercial contracts actually move through a legal team, from first review to redlines, escalation, approval, and signature.
- Department: Product / Operations
- Location: Remote
- Type: Contractor, flexible hours
What You’ll Achieve at TAC
- Evaluate AI-Generated Contract Review Outputs. Review TAC’s AI-generated comments, redlines, fallback positions, and playbook-based recommendations for legal accuracy, quality, risk calibration, and practical usefulness.
- Apply Real-World Legal Judgment. Help determine whether AI suggestions reflect how experienced commercial contracts attorneys would review, escalate, negotiate, and resolve issues in real transactions.
- Improve Redline and Playbook Quality. Provide structured feedback on clause edits, legal risk flags, negotiation positions, fallback language, drafting clarity, and consistency across contract types.
- Validate Commercial Contract Workflows. Review how TAC handles common workflows across MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, order forms, vendor agreements, customer agreements, amendments, and renewals.
- Translate Legal Expertise Into Product Feedback. Explain legal concepts, risk tradeoffs, contract positions, and negotiation patterns in a clear way that product, operations, engineering, and executive teams can act on.
- Shape the Future of Legal AI. Work closely with TAC’s product and engineering teams to improve AI systems built for real commercial contract review, not generic legal automation.
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Are
- Experienced in Commercial Contract Review. You have hands-on experience reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial agreements such as SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, order forms, vendor agreements, customer agreements, amendments, renewals, or similar contracts.
- Strong in Issue Spotting and Practical Risk Judgment. You can identify problematic clauses, missing context, inconsistent positions, unclear drafting, business risk, and issues that require escalation. You know how to separate material risks from theoretical legal concerns.
- Commercially Minded. You understand that contract review is not just about spotting issues, but also about helping legal, sales, procurement, finance, privacy, security, and business teams reach acceptable outcomes quickly and consistently.
- Clear and Structured in Your Feedback. You can explain what works, what does not, and why, through excellent verbal and written communication and with enough context for product, operations, engineering, and executive teams to act on.
- Comfortable Working Cross-Functionally. You can collaborate with non-lawyers, explain legal judgment in practical terms, and help translate attorney expertise into scalable systems and workflows.
- Curious About Legal Technology. You do not need prior AI experience, but you should be interested in how AI can improve contract review quality, consistency, speed, and legal operations.
