Experienced Veterinary Assistant - Specialty

The Animal Cardiology Center (TACC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate veterinary assistant with an interest in specialty practice. As an Assistant at TACC you will play a critical role in supporting our veterinary cardiologists and Technicians to provide the highest standard of care to the companion animals of New York City and beyond. Confident restraint skills and an acute attention to detail are required in this communication and history intensive environment.

Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience as a Veterinary Assistant
• Confident handling and restraint
• Experience taking histories and the ability to ask appropriate follow up questions based on said history
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology
• The ability to effectively budget time for you and for the team
• Highly evolved interpersonal skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as team members
• The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude
• The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
• An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
