Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Technician (Veterinary)

**This a traveling provider position in which, after initial training in NYC, you'd be visiting multiple veterinary practices around the Mid-Atlantic region (Philly, Lancaster, Baltimore, DE, South Jersey) to deliver echocardiographic imaging services.

The Animal Cardiology Center (TACC) is New York’s leading veterinary cardiology practice, delivering cutting-edge diagnostics and compassionate care to canine and feline patients across the region. Under the direction of board-certified cardiologist, Dr Justin Carlson, we push the boundaries of cardiac medicine while fostering a supportive environment for growth. We’re excited to expand our Mobile Echo offerings in the Mid-Atlantic region by training a motivated Veterinary Technician in cardiology imaging. We welcome talented Technicians from various veterinary environments and experiences to apply, prior Cardiology experience is not required, as we’ll provide comprehensive training and mentorship from day one.

We are seeking a Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Technician dedicated to supporting cardiology diagnostics across a wide range of veterinary practices in the Mid-Atlantic region. After an initial training period at our Brooklyn facility, you will travel to partner clinics to perform onsite advanced imaging, including echocardiography and related modalities. You’ll operate with autonomy, bring strategic thought to clinic engagement, maintain equipment, and contribute to expanding our service footprint.

This is a chance to help expand our offerings in a new state and evolve the Cardiology offerings for clients and pets in the Mid-Atlantic region. You’ll be instrumental in helping us launch new services and grow our mission with trust, efficiency, and heart.

What You’ll Do

● Perform echocardiograms (2D, m-mode, color and spectral Doppler) at general practice veterinary offices

● Prepare and optimize imaging equipment, ensure proper calibration, and maintain quality control

● Independently troubleshoot imaging challenges in field settings

● Collect and present imaging data to cardiologists for interpretation

● Support advanced history taking, patient assessment, and record keeping

● Assist with sedation or anesthesia protocols when needed (per supervising veterinarian)

● Maintain accurate records, and manage workflow across multiple sites

● Foster relationships with veterinary practices in the Mid-Atlantic region: help with education, logistics, and partnership outreach

● Contribute to continuous improvement (protocols, imaging standards, training materials)

What Makes This Role Unique

● You’ll spend your first 3-6 months based out of our NYC (DUMBO) Brooklyn facility, receiving hands-on training in cardiology imaging, shadowing our cardiologists, and building proficiency before going mobile. Timing depends on the specific candidate’s learning curve.

● After training, you’ll become a traveling provider, visiting multiple veterinary practices across the Mid-Atlantic region (Philly, Lancaster, Baltimore, DE, South Jersey) to deliver echocardiographic imaging services.

● You will largely function independently in the field, but remain connected with the TACC team for case review, scheduling, and continuous learning.

● Beyond clinical skills, you’ll help cultivate relationships with veterinary clinics, support onboarding new partners, and play a role in expanding our Mid-Atlantic network.

What We Require:

● Strong interest in diagnostic imaging, especially cardiology

● Solid fine motor skills; experience with small-scale procedures is a plus

● Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working autonomously

● Strong people and organizational skills

Physical requirements of the job:

● Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel across the Mid-Atlantic region  (Philly, Lancaster, Baltimore, DE, South Jersey) 

● Comfortable working with all types of animals

● Ability to lift 40lbs

● Capable of moving patients from carrier/floor to exam table

● Able to stand for extended periods of time

What We Prefer:

● Experience in advanced healthcare imaging, either in human or veterinary medicine

● LVT; CVT; RVT Technicians are encouraged to apply

● The base compensation range for this role is $68,000 – $74,000 annually, or the equivalent hourly rate. In addition, this role is eligible for performance-based incentive bonuses.
