About the Job:
The Sr. Technical Product Manager II serves as a central driver across data product strategy, stakeholder management, and technical execution. Regularly engaging with Taco Bell Restaurant Operations stakeholders, they manage intake, prioritize requests, and ensure ongoing alignment. As the technical product lead for the Restaurant Data Platform, they bridge business and technical teams.
This role brings deep technical expertise in data and analytics products, enabling the TPM to provide a technical lens in stakeholder conversations and ensure solutions are grounded in practical data architecture and engineering realities. They play a critical role in translating business requirements into JIRA technical stories with sufficient detail for engineering teams to estimate scope and level of effort accurately.
Deeply embedded with engineering teams, they validate data, use SQL to ask informed questions and answer business inquiries, and guide development and testing efforts. This role leads agile ceremonies, manages backlogs, roadmaps, and status reporting, and plays a strategic role in shaping team workflows, balancing operational leadership with technical depth and process discipline.
The Day-to-Day:
- Engage in-person with Restaurant Operations stakeholders to gather requirements, refine use cases, and align product deliverables with strategic business goals.
- Translate business needs into detailed JIRA stories with clear logic and acceptance criteria; serve as a liaison to clarify requirements, remove blockers, and manage strategic trade-offs.
- Offer a technical perspective on data systems, integrations, and architecture during business discussions, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the intake, scoping, and prioritization of data and AI requests; maintain product roadmaps and report progress to senior leadership.
- Coordinate with BI analysts, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure delivery of accurate, scalable solutions—often validated via SQL.
- Lead daily standups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming across technical squads to ensure efficient execution and alignment on priorities.
Is This You?
- 7+ years of product management experience with a strong focus on data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML-powered tools; experience in matrixed organizations and familiarity with Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operations is a plus.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical product stories, enabling accurate engineering estimation and efficient development.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation; ability to collaborate effectively with data teams. Familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving complex technical initiatives from concept through successful execution.
- Strong understanding of agile product development, including backlog management, roadmap planning, and coordination across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize business needs into technical requirements and contribute technical insights in strategic discussions.

Salary Range: $127,900 to $170,000 annually + bonus eligibility + equity (if applicable) + benefits
