About the Job:
The Software Engineer III handles the software development of the customer-centric marketing technology platform. Built using serverless microservices, this platform is a key component of our customer engagement strategy. This role will drive impact across the Taco Bell business by improving customer satisfaction and lifting engagement lending to more rewarding digital transactions. Work collaboratively with software engineers across Yum! Brands, learn new AWS technologies, and drive the future of Taco Bell marketing technology.
The Day-to-Day:
- Design and build advanced software solutions using AWS serverless technologies.
- Collaborate with software architects, developers, quality assurance, reliability/production support, and product teams to clarify requirements and implement robust systems.
- Create architectural diagrams and offer solution options with pros/cons and advise on a course of action.
- Participate in Agile Scrum activities such as daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Perform peer code reviews and take part in software design sessions with other engineers and software architects.
- Collaborate with software engineers across YUM brands and vendor partners to provide solutions.
Is This You?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical discipline; or equivalent years of experience
- Experience with AWS serverless cloud computing including Lambda, Event Bridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and Route53 (2 years' experience or AWS certified associate solutions architect).
- Considerable experience building and consuming HTTP/REST APIs with ability to draft API contracts (OpenAPI).
- At least 3 years of experience as a software developer: mastery of at least one OOP language, and high competency using TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with Git and The Serverless Framework is needed.
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS Step Functions and AWS CDK
- The ability to exhibit effective communication qualities and to effectively partner with all of IT as well as our business operations teams.

Salary Range: $96,000 to $137,000 annually + bonus eligibility + equity (if applicable) + benefits
