About the Job:
The Sr. Technical Product Manager II serves as a central driver across data product strategy, stakeholder management, and technical execution. Regularly engaging with stakeholders across Taco Bell’s Marketing, Digital, Restaurant Operations, and Restaurant Support Center teams, they manage intake, prioritize requests, and ensure ongoing alignment across customer and restaurant data initiatives. As the technical product lead for core data platforms, they bridge business and technical teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and actionable data solutions.
This role brings deep technical expertise in data and analytics products, enabling the TPM to provide a technical lens in stakeholder conversations and ensure solutions are grounded in sound data architecture and engineering realities. They play a critical role in translating business requirements into detailed JIRA stories with clear logic and acceptance criteria, enabling engineering teams to accurately estimate scope and level of effort.
Deeply embedded with engineering teams, they validate data, use SQL to ask informed questions and answer business inquiries, and guide development and testing efforts. This role leads agile ceremonies, manages backlogs, roadmaps, and status reporting, and plays a strategic role in shaping team workflows—balancing operational leadership with technical depth, process discipline, and a clear focus on data quality and measurable impact across both customer and restaurant domains.
The Day-to-Day:
- Engage with stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, Restaurant Operations, and Restaurant Support Center—both in person and virtually—to gather requirements, refine use cases, and align data platform deliverables with strategic business goals.
- Translate business needs into detailed JIRA stories with clear logic, dependencies, and acceptance criteria; serve as a liaison between business and engineering teams to clarify requirements, remove blockers, and manage strategic trade-offs.
- Offer a technical perspective on data systems, integrations, and architecture during stakeholder discussions, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities across both customer and restaurant data domains.
- Oversee the intake, scoping, and prioritization of data and AI requests; maintain product roadmaps and provide progress updates and insights to senior leadership.
- Partner closely with BI analysts, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure the delivery of accurate, scalable, and high-impact solutions—often validated and refined through SQL analysis.
- Lead agile ceremonies—including daily standups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement—across technical squads to drive efficient execution, alignment on priorities, and continuous improvement in delivery practices.
Is This You?
- 7+ years of product management experience with a strong focus on data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML-powered products; experience in matrixed organizations and familiarity with Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or retail operations is a plus.
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical stories and acceptance criteria, enabling accurate engineering estimation and efficient, high-quality delivery.
- Proficiency in SQL for data exploration, validation, and stakeholder support; ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering, analytics, and data science teams. Familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving complex, data-centric initiatives from concept through execution and measurement.
- Deep understanding of agile product development, including backlog management, roadmap planning, and coordination across multiple concurrent workstreams and technical squads.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize business needs into actionable technical requirements and provide data-informed insights in strategic discussions.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $168,000 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
