Job Overview:

As a Sr. Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance back-end services and customer-facing APIs using AWS technologies. The ideal candidate is a skilled, solution-oriented team player with strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across multiple teams to drive project success. You’ll work closely with our product, engineering, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with Tactacam’s product initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences across Tactacam’s product streams.
  • Align with AWS architecture design and implementation, identifying new technologies and testing solutions.
  • Develop scalable back-end services and APIs using AWS core technologies.
  • Drive strategic technology decisions and support the planning, development, and execution of software deliverables.
  • Enhance mobile user experiences through innovative feature development.
  • Work within the Agile/Scrum framework, partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions aligned with work level agreements and product delivery standards.
  • Participate in discussions on technology strategy and contribute to SDLC areas including architecture, source code management, and CI/CD processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in multiple AWS services, including SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, S3, OpenSearch, and API Gateway.
  • Experience with AWS monitoring and metrics tools (CloudWatch, Event Bridge, CloudTrail, SNS).
  • Background in integrating with third-party APIs, Web Services, and API Gateways.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale system design, horizontal scaling, and managing high-throughput, massive data sets.
  • 5+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including knowledge of design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
  • Familiarity with code management tools like Git/GitHub and adherence to team code management protocols.
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and managing AWS applications.
  • Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API development, and related tools (Linters, Jest, Unit Testing, Integration Testing).
  • AWS Certified Practitioner and/or AWS Certified Developer, preferred

 

While we are open to remote applicants, a strong preference will be given to candidates currently located in, or willing to relocate to, Billings, MT.
