The VP, Market Development will be instrumental in crafting and managing all essential partnerships within a market to drive TailorCare’s success. This role focuses on creating a comprehensive ecosystem of relationships - including the primary care providers (PCPs) who refer patients to us, the downstream specialists who we refer patients to, and the payers who attribute patients to us - that enable us to operate successfully. Reporting to the SVP of Growth, this leader will oversee all aspects of network and partner development, steering TailorCare’s continued expansion into new regions and deepening our relationships with healthcare stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Market Development
- Design and execute a market development strategy to establish a robust network that includes PCPs for patient referrals, downstream specialists, and payers for risk coverage.
- Identify and formalize relationships with high-value provider organizations that align with TailorCare’s goals for cost, quality, and patient experience.
- Build and lead the Network Development team, providing coaching and mentorship to develop junior team members.
- Payer and Provider Partnership Management
- Serve as the key point of contact for major payer and provider partnerships, representing TailorCare’s values and vision in client engagements.
- Enhance partner satisfaction by maintaining high levels of engagement, supporting goal alignment, and identifying mutual growth opportunities.
- Work closely with client leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners to create additional business opportunities and expand services in each market.
- Provide strategic analysis on TailorCare’s impact for clients through data insights and outcomes.
- Lead client communications, including quarterly business reviews and strategic meetings, to achieve mutually agreed goals.
- Act as the internal advocate for client needs, sharing insights with product and marketing teams to support continuous improvement.
- Local Market Leadership Support
- Support local market GMs and leadership teams to build and sustain relationships with payer and provider stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-market client teams to ensure alignment and success across different geographic regions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare payer, provider, and/or services spaces.
- Demonstrated success in business development, network and partnership development, contract negotiations, and value-based care arrangements.
- Willingness to travel (~50%) and work flexible hours to meet business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- US work authorization required
Skills
- Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working with VP and C-level executives in the healthcare industry.
- Expertise in network and market development, including in structuring, negotiating, executing, and monitoring the ongoing performance of value-based contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to lead discussions and influence healthcare executives and senior leaders.
- Proven organizational and project management skills with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ensure critical milestones are met.
- A collaborative, mission-driven approach with a “get things done” mentality and strong leadership qualities to build and guide a growing team.
