DC Quality Controller

M24 Logistics, a division of the Takealot Group, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced DC Quality Controller to join our Cape Town team. We are a renowned e-commerce logistics partner specializing in B2B and B2C warehousing and fulfilment solutions to the local and African markets.

This position will report to the Operational DC Manager.

Role overview

The ideal candidate will ensure that quality standards for both inbound and outbound operations are consistently met and will play a critical role in maintaining overall inventory integrity. As a DC Quality Controller, you will monitor, assess, and implement quality control processes to ensure that our warehouse operations align with company directives, industry standards, and customer expectations.

The requirements for the role are:

  • Relevant certificate in Quality Control, Warehouse Management, or Logistics, or
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspect shipments, inventory, and warehouse operations to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards.
  • Verify that all warehouse processes (receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch) adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct regular audits to identify potential issues, document findings, and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Investigate and report product quality issues or discrepancies, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to reduce errors.
  • Assist in training warehouse staff on quality standards, safe handling practices, and proper storage methods.
  • Oversee inventory control measures, ensuring stock levels match system records and physical counts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations within the warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate with warehouse leaders, suppliers, and external partners to address and resolve quality concerns.

The required competencies are:

  • Strong knowledge of quality control systems and processes applicable in warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software is a plus!
  • Keen attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle fast-paced and high-pressure warehouse environments. 

Good understanding of workplace health & safety regulations
