Data Compliance Specialist

Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Data Compliance Specialist to join our team in Cape Town.

This role reports to the Data Compliance Team leader and is a unique opportunity to work in a high-performance Specialist B2B & B2C environment supporting the Takealot group.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Address and escalate Data Subject requests via all applicable incoming channels.
• Engage with relevant stakeholders to resolve tracking of data requests.
• Conduct eligibility checks for Data requests.
• Provide ideas/actions to drive process & system improvement about data subject contacts across the Takealot.group
• Manage/adhere all SLAs about POPI data requests.
• Carry out internal audit procedures regularly about internal compliance practices including SOPs & Policy changes for new and existing features across brands.
• Review and identify data subject information to support the Information Officer.
• Work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk.

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Senior Certificate or Higher
• Minimum 2 years of strong experience in a specialist role
• Excel, SQL, Zendesk experience
• Experience in e-commerce, start-up, tech, or platform environment 
• Complaints handling 

 Skills required:

• Stakeholder management is a plus!
