The main purpose of the role:
To implement and support the business & operational plans, policies and procedures for the successful management, and security of related system applications currently used as well as any newly implemented applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinates defined service levels, service agreements and coordinates the help desk operation;
- Coordinates and evaluates processes to identify, track, escalate, resolve and report customer problems;
- Adheres to defined standards and measures for quality and customer satisfaction requirements;
- Problem solving and evaluates the technical performance and reliability of products, systems and services to ensure customer satisfaction;
- Implements technical solutions and troubleshooting procedures for identifying, testing and diagnosing application issues and peripheral equipment faults;
- Implements and coordinates changes made to the applications with regards to standards, procedures, processes and daily activities for the operations group;
- Implements and supports new technologies, to enhance performance and reliability;
- Provides input and recommendations regarding business continuance issues and improvements to the operations of systems and processes supported;
- Investigates business requirements and proposes subsequent solutions;
- Ensures optimal availability of related systems, e.g. production applications portfolio in order to meet the contracted service levels for business SLA’s
- Maintains IT service level contracts with Internal and external IT infrastructure suppliers for the provisioning of infrastructure services, specifically as it relates to the production suite;
- Responsible for problem solving by applying the correct procedures and documentation, and providing feedback according to SLA;
- Responsible for maintenance regarding system configurations, procedures and securities; and
- Responsible for testing and implementation of new modules and enhancements.

Requirements:
- National diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
- At least 3 to 5 years IT experience in application support, customer service and/or production support in multi-platform environments.
- Prior Knowledge: Application systems and relevant technologies/technical aspects with regards to Logistics; Business functions and reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and scripting
