Buyer's Assistant
takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Buyer's Assistant to join our Retail team in Cape Town.

This position reports to the Divisional Buying Manager
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the division in all administrative functions linked to order processing and buy Plans.
- Auditing availability, selection and pricing of market best sellers and new releases on the site.
- Supporting on merchandising checks: Checking customer reviews, links and newsletters.
- Managing customer queries and escalating as necessary.
- Oversee day-to-day tasks such as managing stock levels, processing customer orders, handling stock classification, and addressing catalogue-related queries.
- Resolve stock quality disputes and manage ad hoc issues related to stock, products, deliveries, and other retail operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive the success of the retail category.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to pick up the phone and engage directly with stakeholders.
- Be quick to react, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, and demonstrate a hands-on approach to ensuring smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Business Science or Commerce degree preferable).
- At least 1-year related retail / commerce experience.
- An Existing industry networks, a significant plus.
- Competency in MS Office packages, particularly Excel.
- Retail buying/e-commerce experience preferable but not an absolute requirement

- Proficient in working with software tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Docs, with the ability to manage and navigate various digital platforms efficiently
