Who’s who in the tech space
This position reports to the Engineering Manager
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Providing technical support to our growing delivery network including distribution centers, branches, and drivers.
- Working directly with users through email and over the phone to resolve technical issues
- Providing technical support for the hardware used within our delivery network including handheld scanners, network connectivity issues, etc.
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of the software applications used within our delivery network and providing technical support for these applications.
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of our delivery network to provide technical support. This includes processes like driver cash-ups, deliveries, returns, exchanges, etc.
- Helping to identify bugs in software and being the bridge between end users and second-line support engineers. Gathering information about bugs to assist in creating fixes.
- Developing an understanding of the Takealot organisation so that support requests can be redirected to the appropriate support team if necessary.
- Take your turn providing after-hours support including early mornings, late nights, public holidays and weekends.
- Resolving IT support tickets using help desk ticketing software
- Assisting system engineers as needed - "Smart Hands"
- Install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and manage PC software
- Providing comprehensive troubleshooting and support for all IT equipment and software
- Performing software installations as required
- Other duties as assigned by Management on-site or Team Lead
- Documenting IT procedures for internal use including test protocols
The skills we need:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work and perform with minimal supervision
- Driven to improve customer satisfaction, both internally and externally
- Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under high-pressure situations
- Must be able to meet team goals and enjoy working collaboratively as a team
- Root cause analysis and problem resolution
Qualifications & Experience:
- IT Diploma
- A+, N+, MCSA certifications
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Advanced knowledge of Google Business Suite
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an IT support services-related role including desktop support, wireless support, and troubleshooting
- A basic understanding of software development and databases will be advantageous
- Industrial / Warehouse environment support experience will be advantageous
