The Challenge

We are looking for a forward-thinking, articulate, results oriented Tax Accountant to support the T2 US Tax team in meeting Indirect Tax compliance obligations (including Sales Tax, VAT, GST, and DST) with respect to Direct to Consumer sales globally as well as supporting on other projects as required.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with team collaboration, working within an agile and fast-paced environment, and providing polished and self-reviewed results. Excellent communication skills are vital, along with attention to detail, confidentiality, dedication, and a willingness to work hard and get the job done.

What You’ll Take On

• Perform, support and communicate the calculation of the monthly indirect tax accruals across multiple entities and territories.
• Calculate, review and reconcile Indirect Tax returns using provided tools and templates for approval by various stakeholders in the wider T2 business.
• Manage the submission of returns using our submission partners, and maintain records of approvals and submissions.
• Manage the settlement of taxes owed by various T2 entities and ensure settlements are correctly reflected in the accounts of each business by performing month end reconciliations.
• Process and track monthly tax payments for timely submission.
• Monitor sales in territories/states where T2 is not registered for Indirect Taxes for breach of registration thresholds.
• Support the preparation and submission of new sales tax registration applications, including gathering required documentation and coordinating with the relevant state.
• Collaborate with US tax teams, as well as external providers, to support on various projects as required.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of professional accounting experience, including experience in high volume tax compliance and indirect tax.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex tax concepts in English is required in this position.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the business partners and to develop working relationships with management and staff in all departments.
• Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• General understanding of SOX compliance for a public company
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment utilizing organizational and team-oriented interpersonal skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deal with multiple changing priorities.
• Self-starter working under minimal direction and drive tasks or responsibility to completion and meet the deadline.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionalities and formula (e.g. pivot table, SUMIF/SUMIFS/VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/INDEX/MATCH formulas, etc.)

 Great to Have

• Specific experience with US Sales Tax compliance is desirable.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP, Hyperion Financial Management/Hyperion Planning systems, and BlackLine reconciliation tool a plus.
• Experience with SQL and building simple macros will be a benefit in this data-heavy position, but strong Excel skills will be sufficient.
