Job Title: Test Analyst 
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week 
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits 
Location:  Flexible – Embrace fully remote or hybrid work from any of our vibrant UK offices in London, Cardiff, Durham, or Blackpool.

Working alongside the Test Manager and Test Leads, the Test Analyst is responsible for analysing application requirements and design documents, developing test plans and protocols that comply with business guidelines, executing tests and document results, and defect management to ensure any software rollout is technically fit for purpose, and meets operational/business needs. 

The Test Analyst should be comfortable with working collaboratively with key colleagues and stakeholder as part of a multi-skilled delivery team, to support the implementation of new technologies, or upgrades to existing software. The Test Analyst should be methodical and result driven, with a passion for detecting and solving problems, with exceptional attention to detail.

Reporting to the Test Manager/Test Lead, the Test Analyst role sits within the Bank’s (manual) Test Team.  The Test Team is small, but diverse in terms of expertise and experience, which supports testing activities across several different business lines and platforms.  
  
Your Impact: Building a greener tomorrow  

As a Test Analyst at Tandem your focus will be on: 

  • Projects of different size, scale and complexity 
  • Working collaboratively with delivery teams to deliver new or upgraded software, at the highest possible quality standards 
  • Defining and producing Test artefacts that align with the agreed Test methodology and processes, for all applicable Test Phases 
  • Providing peer reviews of applicable Test artefacts produced by team members  
  • Taking ownership of Test Case creation, Test Execution and Issue resolution within the area of responsibility, and ensuring Test activities is completed to a high level and quality standard 
  • Liaise with Key Stakeholders for timely issue resolution, including taking ownership of issues identified, ensuring follow-up, root cause analysis and issue retests are actioned as required 
  • Supporting with the production of key Test Metrics for Test monitoring, and the production of the required Stakeholder Reporting 
  • Ensuring risks and issues escalation protocols are followed, and actioned in a timely manner 
  • Supporting Live implementation activities 
  • Supporting with continuous improvement activity for the enhancement of the testing processes 
  • Supporting a journey of continued project and platform enhancements/improvements and continuous improvement activity  

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Demonstrable proficiency in a software testing role, with suitable practical experience 
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and different delivery methodologies 
  • Sound working knowledge of the Software Test Lifecycle  
  • Experience in defining and creating Test Cases, completing Test Execution and Defect Management 
  • Experience in System, Integration Testing and Acceptance Testing/User Acceptance Testing, or have a comprehensive understanding of the Test Phases (with a strong desire to improve the end user experience) 
  • Experience of understanding and analysing complex business processes, complex data, and requirements 
  • Adept at learning new systems and processes, and technically ‘hands-on’ 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team  
  • A curious and proactive individual, with strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Strong logical and critical thinking skills, with a panache for challenging views and opinions 
  • Good planning and organisational skills  

It would be great, but not essential if you have: 

  • ISEB/ISTQB Certified in Software Testing (Foundation Level or equivalent) 
  • Testing experience within a Financial Service environment, and understanding of associated regulations, financial processes and terminology 
  • Experience of using a Risk Based Test approach 
  • Experience in Mobile App Testing 
  • Experience in API Testing and API Test Tooling (e.g. Postman) 
  • Experience with SQL queries (MS SQL Server) 
  • Experience in testing web services, and working with XML files  
  • Experience with Planning tools (e.g. use of Jira for planning and Issue/Bug Management) 
  • Experience with Test Planning/Management tools (e.g. Zephyr)
