Job Title: Training & Competence Advisor
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week (8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm)
Salary: £27,500 - £32,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits
Location: Durham (Drum Industrial Estate, Chester-le-street), hybrid

We’re building an amazing team and we’re looking for a hard working and driven Training and Competency Advisor to support us on our journey.
The purpose of the role is to assist the Training and Competency Supervisor in the delivery of the department’s training & competency scheme, ensuring that the teams expected levels of competence, as specified in the Group’s training & competency scheme, are achieved and maintained. Internally the job title is Training and Competency Assistant.
What you will be working on:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Accountability for individual performance and contribution to achieve KPI’s set by the business.
- Ownership of individual objectives and personal development.
- Support the T&C Manager through effective training needs analysis and skills assessments with a view to developing training material for the Operation when required.
- Conduct telephone based and account reviews as laid out in T&C framework.
- Maintain accurate training records.
- Deliver group and individual training and one-one coaching for all new joiners to the Operation to work through the pathway to competence, as well as supporting existing staff who are at a maintaining competency level.
What we're looking for:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:
Essential:
- Collections and/or Arrears experience and knowledge is essential for this position.
- Good knowledge of Banking Operations departments and policies.
- Computer literacy including working experience on Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and time management skills resulting in the ability to prioritise several tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to strict FCA guidelines.
- Previous experience in a Collections role.
- Ability to travel between other Tandem offices when required.
