The Position
As a Senior Associate at TCG, you’ll be at the forefront of sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments in our focus areas. Serving as a second chair to experienced deal leads, you’ll gain exposure to a diverse range of innovative brands that are shaping the future of the consumer landscape. You’ll play a pivotal role in identifying growth potential, crafting investment theses, and supporting the overall investment strategy. With a focus on driving deal execution, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build sophisticated financial models, conduct rigorous due diligence, and evaluate key market opportunities.
The ideal candidate will combine sharp analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial structuring, building complex financial models, and thriving in a fast-paced, results-driven environment where their contributions directly influence TCG’s success.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Build and review detailed, dynamic financial models for growth forecasts, operating models, and transactional models (e.g. debt and equity returns analysis, cap tables, exit/liquiditation, cash/debt builds); deriving actionable insights for deal evaluation
- Conduct thorough business, financial, and legal due diligence on potential investments by driving internal work product and working with third-party advisors, as appropriate. Synthesize and provide comprehensive analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
- Evaluate potential investment financial performance, market potential, and strategic fit
- Lead theme work and produce high-quality presentations
- Support all deal execution phases, from term sheet to closing
- Mentor and train Associates on core technical skills and responsibilities
Candidate Background & Attributes
- Ideally has 4+ years in growth equity, private equity, investment banking, or a similar role
- Advanced financial modeling skills; proficiency in assessing financial statements, valuation analyses, and complex financial structures
- Deep understanding of the deal process from sourcing to closing
- Ability to mentor junior teammates and provide meaningful, growth-oriented feedback
- A team player who can work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
- Excellent communication skills; able and willing to ask the hard questions, form educated opinions, and share well-informed perspectives
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
- Genuine intellectual curiosity, regularly seeking opportunities to learn and grow; stays up to date on emerging trends and industry developments
- A bachelor’s degree or higher
Expected annual base salary range: $200,000 - $230,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
