Director of Marketing

Position Summary

TDI — the strategic advisory and risk intelligence firm — is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to join our team. The Director will be responsible for developing, communicating, and executing the firm’s overall marketing strategy. 

We’re seeking a collaborative marketing professional with experience engaging with leadership, management, clients, and other commercial stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing impactful marketing plans that align with business goals, market trends, and the firm’s value proposition.  The successful candidate will be comfortable planning and attending industry conferences to represent TDI; drive our digital marketing presence; and be a steadfast brand ambassador for the firm.

Reporting directly to the President of TDI, the Marketing Director will be a key player in our cross-industry offerings.  Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of corporate compliance and ethics, including international anti-bribery regulations and sanctions, is required along with an understanding of the competitive landscape for professional service and SaaS firms operating in the compliance industry.  The Director will work closely with TDI leadership to identify marketing goals and establish market positioning.

This role is pivotal as we cater to various industries and geographies, with a significant focus on the global life sciences industry including the biotech, pharma, and medical device sectors.  We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in these markets, specifically with risk and compliance groups within these clients.

The role is based on-site at our Washington, DC headquarters.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop positioning and messaging differentiating TDI.
  • ­Develop a strategic vision with the senior management team.
  • ­Work closely with Sales and Product to communicate marketing strategies and incorporate feedback into campaign planning.
  • Plan, execute, report, and iterate multi-touch B2B demand generation campaigns, incorporating lead acquisition, nurture, and database re-engagement to drive qualified leads.
  • ­Utilize content marketing and thought leadership materials to acquire and nurture leads.
  • ­Create sales enablement that communicates the value proposition of products and services to support the sales team.
  • ­Develop sales tools that support the selling process.
  • Implement a multichannel marketing campaign and use lead attribution models to report on the total value of campaigns.
  • Own the digital presence of TDI, including website, LinkedIn, social media, blogs, etc.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Be a leader in helping TDI grow its marketing function.
  • Effectively manage the marketing team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a marketing role for a SaaS and service-based organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Life sciences experience is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively, with a track record of developing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent leadership skills.
  • Willingness and preference to “roll up sleeves” but also leadership oriented.
  • Experience in building a marketing vision, strategy, and plan.
  • Excellent communicator – written, verbal, and visual.
  • Ability to balance the strategic and tactical, analytical, and creative.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and energetic.
  • Relevant certifications in digital marketing, content marketing, or related fields are preferred (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Proficiency with marketing automation tools, CRM software (Salesforce), and analytics platforms is required.

Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, attributes, experience, training, licensure, certifications, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.

Compensation: $150,000 – $300,000
