The Client Management Lead, DD&I is a leadership opportunity for an experienced professional to manage, guide, and mentor the team of client managers for our Due Diligence & Investigations (DD&I) business. This role will oversee the DD&I Client Management team; be responsible for managing the client portfolio; and ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for each DD&I. The ideal candidate will embody a “player-coach” approach in their oversight of the Client Management team—both personally conducting and providing guidance to client managers on the following tasks: conducting client pitches and briefs; overseeing pricing and proposal generation; actively supporting business development for the DD&I unit; cross-, up-, and reselling to clients; providing guidance to clients on our services and findings; and ensuring our services meet client expectations.
Job Responsibilities
The Client Management Lead, DD&I will have the following responsibilities:
- Ensure all client relationships—whether managed directly by the Client Management Lead or by member of the Client Management team—are led in the “TDI way” and according to TDI’s culture and values; develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, actively seeking feedback to meet their needs and identify opportunities.
- Ensure that relationships across our client portfolio are managed in a consultative/partnership-based approach, including that we advise clients on offerings that will best meet their need, set clear client expectations, meet or check-in regularly with key contacts.
- Serve as the primary interface between the client and the firm.
- Prepare reports/assessments of client relationships.
- Ensure all work products delivered to clients meet client-specific expectations and TDI internal quality standards.
- Mentor, coach, and train the Client Management team; give consistent feedback to client managers on how to deal with client issues; serve as direct people manager for client managers and/or support staff; provide leadership to and supervise the professional development and performance of the Client Management team.
- Support Partners / Revenue Generation team on which DD&I offerings meet client need and serve as the “go-to” DD&I representative on sales calls and RFP pitches.
- Serve as a key liaison point with marketing, providing feedback, insight, and support to the Marketing team regarding our market, evolving competitive landscape, value proposition to clients, and service offerings.
- Working with other members of DD&I management, set prices, scope, and turnaround times for all DD&I reports—from compliance diligence to custom investigations—in line with the market, while also driving profitability across proposals/quotes issued by the Client Management and Revenue Generation teams; review all DD&I proposals.
- Work with the CRO & DD&I Practice Lead to continually evolve our assessment of what our value add is, what sets us apart from competitors, what segment of the market we should focus on, and what services we should offer and at what price range.
- Ensure our project intake and delivery processes are systemized and consistently followed; proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and implement best practices to enhance the team’s capabilities.
- Drive revenue maintenance and growth among current clients through re-selling, upselling, and cross-selling.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Job Client Management Lead, DD&I position will possess the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international relations, political science, regional studies, business or related area of study.
- Experience:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience, 5 years of experience in a client-facing role, and at least 2 years of experience managing a team.
- At least 5 years of experience responding to proposal, qualifications, and fee requests.
- Professional fluency in English required.
- Experience in management consulting, risk advisory, or due diligence required.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Expertise in energy/materials, life sciences, advanced industries/aerospace, financial services, and/or professional services.
- Capable of adjusting to changing priorities and industry dynamics while maintaining professionalism.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms.
- Skilled in working effectively with diverse teams and clients, demonstrating cultural awareness.
- Ability to exhibit a high level of work ethic and professionalism; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly understand TDI’s industry, market position, and competitive advantage, and translate that knowledge into winning proposals and innovative service offerings.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of driving process improvement.
- Exceptional reading, writing, briefing, and analytical skills; candidates will be asked to complete a diagnostic test to this effect.
- Adept at effectively supervising and mentoring a team of skilled client managers for their professional growth.
- Excellent time management skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Location: Washington, DC (in-person)
Compensation: $130,000 – $175,000 annualized
