ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Finance department’s primary purpose is to steward Teaching Lab’s financial health and sustainability by ensuring accurate financial management, compliance, and strategic use of resources. The team’s main functions include budgeting and forecasting, revenue and expense management, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Finance department contributes to Teaching Lab’s mission by ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and transparently, enabling program teams to focus on delivering high-quality professional learning that improves student outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Contracts Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to support the full lifecycle of contracts across partnerships, contractors, and vendors while ensuring compliance with organizational and legal requirements.. Working alongside colleagues in  the Finance, Operations, People & Culture, Program, and Strategic Growth teams, the Contracts Coordinator will:

  • Manage independent contractor (1099) agreements, renewals, documentation, in compliance with labor and organizational guidelines
  • Track and monitor vendor contracts, renewal timelines, and support purchasing needs
  • Draft and maintain partnership agreements, sub-awards, and statements of work,  ensuring all approvals, signatures, and compliance documentation (e.g., W-9s, insurance certificates, vendor registrations) are accurate and complete
  • Support revenue operations by aligning contract terms with invoicing schedules and revenue recognition processes
  • Maintain organized, accessible records of executed contracts and related documentation in designated systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve workflows, meet insurance requirements, support rate updates, and strengthen contract systems

The Contracts Coordinator role is an individual contributor-level position with no management responsibilities. This role is essential to ensuring efficient contract administration, compliance, and operational effectiveness that sustain Teaching Lab’s partnerships and impact. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, collaboration across teams, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Work Experience, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two (2) years of experience in contract coordination, contract administration, or related operational support.
  • Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, compliance. documentation, and standard contracting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Effective project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with contract management or document storage tools (e.g., Dropbox, DocuSign) preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • All team members are expected to support program/project needs, which could mean that you hold multiple roles on project teams (i.e., Project Lead, Project Sponsor, Coach Developer, Client Partnership Manager, Instructional Designer, Subject Matter Expert, Coach/Facilitator, Project Management Support, or Analyst).
  • Travel could be required for the role. Travel is determined based on business needs and can vary depending on partnership/contract requirements.
  • All roles at Teaching Lab are contingent upon the availability of project work, available funding, and organizational priorities. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, including extended periods of sitting, frequent participation in virtual meetings and video calls, and consistent use of computer-based systems and communication tools.

COMPENSATION
The full salary range for this position is $65,500 - $99,075 annually. This range represents the full earning potential for the role, including opportunities for salary growth over time based on performance, tenure, and organizational budget. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $65,500 - $86,401. Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint of the full salary range ($86,401) to allow for continued growth in the role over time. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate’s most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates that possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications). Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint to allow for continued growth in the role over time.
