Who We Are

Teal Media is a full-service creative and design agency with a conscience. We believe purposeful design can transform organizations, inspire action, and enable progress. Our clients and nonprofit partners are committed to creating positive social change—and we pour every ounce of our passion and skill into helping them succeed.

We offer a variety of strategic, creative, and technical services, including brand strategy, web design and development, and creative support.

We’re a woman-founded and woman-led firm with a team that reflects a broad range of lived experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. At Teal, we value our people above all else and choose to work with partners and clients who share those values.

To carry that vision forward, we’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer who can build digital experiences that are as powerful under the hood as they are beautiful on the surface. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our creatives, strategists, and developers to craft custom WordPress sites that are responsive, accessible, and scalable. As a senior team member, you’ll take ownership of full-stack delivery, mentor others, and help guide technical decisions—ensuring every site we build reflects the creativity, care, and values that define Teal.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full-stack development for custom websites and digital tools, primarily built on WordPress (and occasionally other open-source CMS platforms)
  • Develop back-end functionality, including custom theme and plugin development, third-party integrations, and scalable architecture
  • Build front-end templates and UI components using modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (vanilla or framework-based, depending on project)
  • Translate designs into responsive, accessible, cross-browser-compatible experiences that align with creative vision and UX standards
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, collaborating with designers and strategists from concept to implementation
  • Build complex, standalone microsites and interactive elements as needed
  • Implement secure development practices, performance optimization, and basic SEO best practices
  • Conduct browser and device testing, as well as QA cycles, to ensure delivery quality
  • Participate in content migration, site population, and client CMS training when applicable
  • Provide technical support and iterative development for retainer clients (updates, bug fixes, enhancements)
  • Assist in creating documentation for internal use and client handoff
  • Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and trends in both front- and back-end development
  • Participate in client meetings, walkthroughs, or demos as needed, especially when technical input is valuable
  • Provide feedback on internal dev workflows, documentation, and coding standards
  • Contribute to technical discovery and estimation for new projects
  • Participate in dev team meetings, retrospectives, and code reviews
  • Offer ideas for process improvement or tooling updates that can benefit the team
  • Assist in researching and establishing methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, PMs, and strategists to align development with strategy and scope
  • Communicate project progress, blockers, and solutions clearly and respectfully
  • Model quality, accountability, and ownership in your work
  • Occasionally represent development in client meetings or presentations.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • 6+ years of professional development experience, with strong front-end expertise and working back-end knowledge.

  • 1–2 years of agency or consulting experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrable experience developing complex front-end HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code—with examples you can walk us through.

  • Experience coding from scratch as well as leveraging modern frameworks or libraries when appropriate.

  • Experience building and maintaining custom WordPress themes and plugins (Drupal or other open-source CMS experience a plus).

  • Familiarity with back-end technologies (PHP, MySQL, REST APIs) and the ability to integrate with third-party tools and services.

  • Strong understanding of the website design and development process, including git workflows, mobile-responsive design, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.

  • Knowledge of secure development practices and basic SEO implementation.

  • Experience mentoring junior developers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to team best practices.

  • Self-starter, independent thinker, and highly responsible; able to manage competing priorities with grace.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with strict attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
