UI Engineering Lead

Would you like to work on a new IP and new genre that combines amazing action feel with lighthearted and whimsical characters? Do you revel in creating delightful and seamless user experiences for both players and developer workflows alike?

As a UI Engineering Lead, you will help bring the UX vision of the Design team to life by implementing responsive and stable UI systems in the Unreal Engine. Most importantly, you will work with a fun and dedicated cross-discipline team devoted to making a new franchise at teamLFG.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• With minimal oversight, build and maintain production-quality UI systems, workflows, and tools in C++ on Unreal 5

• Directly hire, manage and lead engineers working within the UI subdiscipline, providing support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback, and career development coaching

• Provide technical guidance in UXUI systems to empower teammates across a wide variety of gameplay disciplines

• Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to build new player experiences

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in C++

• Ability to communicate with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals

• Experience building and maintaining a broad variety of UXUI systems, from HUDs and front-end menus to fonts and localization workflows

• Experience leading (direct management, mentoring, or guiding) engineers

• Experience with development using the Unreal Engine

 

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with development on a variety of platforms (PC, console)

• Experience with real-time action multiplayer games

• Experience shipping one or more game titles

• Experience with codev or contractors

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$197,000 - $296,000 USD
