At Mid-Atlantic, you’ll be hands-on with trailers, containers, steel components, and hoppers—repairing, fabricating, and assembling to keep our customers’ equipment in top condition. You’ll use your skills with MIG welding, torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools, making a real impact every day.

As a Welder, you will:
- Repair Work: Dismantle, cut, and repair broken metal components and machinery. Repair, paint, fabricate, and correct deficiencies on municipal trailers and trucks.
- Parts Management: Order, pick up, and track parts needed for repairs and projects.
- Fabrication: Fabricate steel components for containers, trailers, hoppers, and other equipment.
- Quality Control: Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with safety standards.
- Workspace Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on welding machines, cutting torches, and power tools.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear (masks, gloves, shields), and adhere to OSHA and company-specific health and safety regulations.
- Independence and Initiative: Take ownership of tasks, work independently, and complete assignments efficiently.
- Other Duties: Perform other welding-related tasks as assigned.
What qualifications are we looking for?
- Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a similar environment
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication machines
- Experience repairing and maintaining used equipment
- Aluminum welding experience is a plus
- Mechanical experience is a plus
- Works well under limited supervision and can take initiative
- Possess your own welding tools, including a welding helmet
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance
- Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening
- Comfortable working in small or tight spaces
