Easton, Maryland, United States

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment (MATE)

Talent Acquisition Specialist — Full-Cycle Recruiting

Do you enjoy connecting with people, figuring things out, and finding the right person for the job?

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who brings a sales-minded approach to recruiting—someone who enjoys building relationships, asking good questions, thinking creatively, and finding solutions when the obvious answer isn’t always the right one.

This is a fast-paced role with a lot of variety. You’ll work with hiring managers across the business, recruit for a wide range of positions, and manage the process from the first candidate conversation through the first day. Priorities can change, searches can take unexpected turns, and some roles will be harder to fill than others. We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, adapting to changing priorities, and finding creative ways to keep things moving forward.

You don’t need a traditional recruiting background to succeed here. We’re interested in people who have experience in sales, hospitality, retail management, customer service, recruiting, or other people-focused environments where building relationships, communicating well, solving problems, and staying adaptable were important to success.

If you like having ownership of your work, enjoy a good challenge, and get satisfaction from connecting the right people with the right opportunities, we’d love to talk with you.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $55,000–$68,000 annually, based on experience
  • Monday–Friday Schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Hybrid Schedule: In-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Easton, MD corporate office, with additional in-office days as needed
  • Company Laptop: Provided for work performed outside the office
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and additional coverage options
  • Generous PTO: Accrue two weeks of paid time off in your first year
  • 401(k): Company match
  • Employee Referral Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Career Growth: Development, stability, and advancement opportunities within MATE

What You’ll Do

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll own the full recruitment lifecycle while partnering closely with hiring managers across MATE.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, hiring needs, priorities, and timelines
  • Source, engage, and screen candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, direct outreach, and creative sourcing strategies
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs
  • Connect with candidates, understand what they’re looking for, and communicate opportunities in a way that is genuine and engaging
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Coordinate interviews, manage scheduling, and keep the process moving from intake through onboarding
  • Evaluate candidates objectively and provide hiring managers with clear, job-related feedback
  • Help identify solutions when a search isn’t producing the candidates we need and adjust the approach as needed
  • Support offer development, extension, and negotiation in partnership with leadership
  • Manage pre-employment steps and help ensure a smooth transition from candidate to new TeamMATE
  • Represent MATE at recruiting events, job fairs, networking opportunities, and branch visits as needed
  • Maintain accurate ATS documentation and handle candidate and employee information with confidentiality and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Sales-minded and relationship-oriented — comfortable starting conversations, building rapport, understanding what motivates people, and creating interest in an opportunity
  • Independent and self-directed — enjoys taking ownership and having the opportunity to make an impact
  • Adaptable — comfortable when priorities shift and able to adjust your approach as business needs change
  • Naturally curious — asks thoughtful questions and takes the time to understand the situation before jumping to a solution
  • A problem-solver — enjoys figuring things out and looking for another approach when the first one doesn’t work
  • Organized and detail-oriented — able to keep multiple searches, conversations, deadlines, and follow-ups moving at the same time
  • A strong communicator — comfortable communicating with candidates, hiring managers, and leadership across a variety of roles and backgrounds
  • Comfortable with a challenge — understands that some positions will be easier to fill than others and enjoys working through the more difficult searches
  • Collaborative and accountable — works well with others while taking responsibility for your own work and follow-through
  • Comfortable with technology — proficient with computers and systems and willing to learn new tools and processes

Qualifications

  • Must reside within a one-hour driving radius of the Easton, Maryland corporate office
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, people-facing environment, such as sales, hospitality, retail management, recruiting, restaurant management, customer service, or a similar role
  • Ability and willingness to travel to MATE branches and recruiting events as needed, including occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to support occasional after-hours communication when business needs require it
