Associate, Operations Support (Mobilization)
Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking an Associate, Operations Support (Mobilization) to join our Programs team! The Associate, Operations Support (Mobilization) will collaboratively and cooperatively work within their team and on cross-functional teams. This will require working with competing priorities and keeping multiple stakeholders apprised of decisions. The Associate, Operations Support (Mobilization) will provide functional support to the Mobilization team. This position connects the geographic branch teams with the functional area to promote unity of action. They will motivate and inspire coworkers, contractors, volunteer leaders, and volunteers to further Team Rubicon's service delivery within assigned geographies.
Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s Director, Operations (West Branch) and is based remote within the West Branch.
Duties:
- Primary point-of-contact for Geographic Area Teams, Branch Planning, Logistics, Field Leadership, and Mobilization Volunteer leaders for issues and questions regarding Mobilization.
- Ensures Mobilization leaders are trained and able to successfully execute on Mission Planning Teams.
- Oversees training and onboarding of Mobilization leaders.
- Provides oversight of execution of all mobilization aspects at the Branch level.
- Conducts quality assurance of mobilization metrics.
- Ensures Mobilization Volunteer leaders are communicating effectively, and doing meaningful, impactful work.
- Sends Call to Action (CTA) notifications to forecast availability of volunteers to respond to operations at the local and national level.
- Conducts administrative work to provide fiscal accountability and transparency for Mobilization related costs.
- Advises MPTs and C&G on Mobilization related areas of concern.
- Seeks, collects, and actions feedback to improve systems within parameters of process.
- Devotes 10% of day to work on location agnostic projects.
Education and Background:
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in the military, disaster response, emergency management or first responder field
- Proven record of personnel management experience such as recruiting, managing, training, and developing employees and volunteers
- Experienced with technology tools and in remote working for communicating and coordinating with a large network of TR staff members, Greyshirts (volunteers), and external stakeholders
- Successful past performance in leading volunteers is highly desired
Special Requirements:
- This is a full-time, remote role and the position can be based in the following locations: Arizona (AZ), Nevada (NV), New Mexico (NM), Colorado (CO), Wyoming (WY), Hawai'i (HI), Idaho (ID), Montana (MT), Utah (UT), California (CA), Alaska (AK), Oregon (OR), or Washington (WA) (Metro Areas preferred). This role also provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
- Evening and weekend schedule supporting leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operations
- Local Travel: Reliable transportation is required. The person filling this position will be expected to travel within their local area to support ongoing efforts
- Other Travel: At least 25-35% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities and surge support

- $47,054.40 - $80,205.60 per year
