About the Role
We are seeking a Director, AI & Automation to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of enterprise-wide automation and AI initiatives. This role combines technical depth in integration and AI engineering with strategic leadership responsibilities, driving scalable automations, AI-assisted workflows, and data pipelines across the enterprise.
As a hands-on leader, you will guide the architecture and design of automation frameworks primarily with Workato but also taking into consideration other frameworks including Snowflake, Salesforce, NetSuite, and Slack while building and mentoring a high-performing team. You will also partner with executives and other stakeholders to ensure automation and AI programs align with business priorities, improve efficiency, and enable transformative customer and employee experiences.
Your Area of Focus
Automation & AI Strategy
- Define and execute the automation and AI strategy across the enterprise, balancing hands-on technical contributions with leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
Architecture & Technical Oversight
- Oversee the design of resilient, observable automation frameworks and AI-enabled workflows. Provide hands-on guidance in Workato and AI model integration, ensuring best practices for scalability and governance.
Enterprise Integration Leadership
- Direct system-to-system integrations (Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake) with a focus on data quality, reusability, and automation of lead-to-cash and analytics workflows.
AI Workflow Enablement
- Operationalize AI use cases such as knowledge retrieval, intelligent triage, automated approvals, autonomous workflows, and user prompted workflows across Workato and other AI tools.
Governance & Standards
- Establish enterprise standards for automation design, testing, monitoring, and documentation. Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
- Partner with executives and business leaders to shape automation priorities and influence adoption of AI-driven capabilities across functions.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Hire, mentor, and retain a strong team of automation engineers, analysts, and architects. Promote a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
Your Professional Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in automation, integration, or data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise with Workato required.
- Expertise with Snowflake, Salesforce, and NetSuite, with strong architectural and automation design skills preferred.
- Hands-on technical background in ETL/ELT, data modeling, SQL/T-SQL, and programming (Python, Ruby, or similar).
- Experience operationalizing AI/ML models and workflows for enterprise use cases.
- Strong leadership competencies: hiring, motivating, and retaining top technical talent.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and executive influence, able to translate business needs into automation/AI strategies that deliver measurable outcome.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct feasibility studies, budgets, and project proposals for enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Track record of introducing innovation in automation and AI while maintaining governance and system reliability.
- Workato Automation Pro certification preferred.
