Senior Software Engineer - Python

The Role: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Python Engineer. The ideal candidate will join our team and be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable web applications using Python. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in lexers and parsers to build efficient and robust systems.

What you will do:  

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure the successful integration of lexers and parsers into our systems.
• Write system, unit, and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the codebase.
• Work with frameworks connected to Python, such as Flask and Django, to build scalable and efficient web applications.
• Use server-side templating languages to create dynamic and interactive user interfaces.
• Optimize performance and efficiency by understanding Python's threading restrictions and multi process architecture.
• Write SQL queries and interact with databases to store and retrieve data.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in lexers, parsers, and Python development.

Required Skills: 

• Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts and the Python language.
• Good to have experience  with lexers and parsers, with a preference for PLY (Python Lex-Yacc).
• Familiarity with frameworks connected to Python, such as Flask and Django.
• Proficiency in using server-side templating languages.
• knowledge of trustworthy testing and debugging tools, including system, unit, and integration testing.
• Strong SQL querying skills.
• Hands-on experience with unit testing and coding best practices.
• Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals for developing scalable systems.

Nice to have Skills:   

• Experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Previous exposure to video analytics, computer vision, or natural language processing is a plus.
