Data Engineer - NetSuite Specialist

The Role:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to play a hybrid role in managing our NetSuite environment while also contributing to data engineering initiatives. This position is responsible for designing, optimizing, and integrating NetSuite solutions while also building scalable data pipelines and analytical models. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in ERP customizations, data architecture, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy customizations, scripts, and workflows within NetSuite using SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, and SuiteBuilder.
- Manage NetSuite integrations with third-party systems and APIs to ensure seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Oversee NetSuite system administration, including roles, permissions, security, and data integrity.
- Develop reports and dashboards using NetSuite’s reporting tools (Financial Report Builder, SuiteAnalytics, Saved Searches) to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into NetSuite enhancements.
- Provide ongoing NetSuite support and training to ensure adoption and optimal system usage.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows to support data movement between NetSuite and other systems.
- Build and maintain scalable data architectures, including data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and big data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark).
- Implement ETL processes and automate data workflows for high performance and reliability.
- Develop SQL and Python-based data transformations for analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights effectively.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across systems and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with NetSuite, including SuiteScript development and system administration.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, working with large-scale data pipelines and analytics solutions.
- English proficiency
- Expertise in NetSuite SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, and SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF).
- Experience with NetSuite reporting tools and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis and transformations.
- Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting, with experience in Spark for distributed data processing.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and cloud platforms like AWS (e.g., S3, SageMaker, EMR).
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
- Familiarity with ERP system integrations and financial data analysis.
Nice to have:
- NetSuite certifications (Administrator, SuiteFoundation, SuiteAnalytics).
- Experience with machine learning model integration within data pipelines.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and SaaS-based application development.
- Experience working in Agile/Kanban teams, participating in sprints, standups, and roadmap discussions.
