Technical Project Manager, Salesforce (Hybrid) - Contract

The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our rapidly expanding technology team. This individual should work well in a dynamic, startup-like environment within a scaling company, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong Agile/Scrum Master experience, has successfully led Salesforce projects, and is adept at managing multiple concurrent workstreams. This role demands a strong partnership with business, technology and third-party stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution and delivery of key strategic workstreams across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Manage and maintain overall project plan including defining milestones, creating detailed schedules, and aligning team deliverables to ensure successful initiative execution.
- Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate project status, identify risks, and manage dependencies with all relevant stakeholders.
- Issue & Risk Management: Maintain a comprehensive register of open issues and risks, holding teams accountable for timely resolutions.
- Roadblock Removal: Identify impediments, coordinating with appropriate individuals to maintain project momentum.
- Agile Leadership: Drive Agile practices across teams, facilitating stand-ups, retrospectives, grooming sessions, and sprint planning.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate efforts and align resources across various departments as well as internal and external resources to achieve project goals.
- Salesforce Project Leadership: Manage work across Salesforce project workstreams, ensuring Professional Services & Delivery teams adhere to agreed upon deliverables and deadlines.
- Results-Oriented Delivery: Deliver multiple concurrent Agile projects with measurable results, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a leadership presence.
- JIRA Management: Document use cases, workflows, and data fields within JIRA as user stories and epics, ensuring clear and comprehensive project requirements.
- Manage Testing Process: Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across both internal and external testing teams.
- Change Management and Documentation: Ensure comprehensive system documentation is provided as products are designed and delivered to support audit readiness and release quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep up-to-date with new Salesforce features, releases, and best practices to ensure the system is optimized and innovative. Always strive to drive improvements in user adoption, data quality, and business process efficiency through system optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience; 8–10 years preferred.
- Agile Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent Agile projects, with proven experience in Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to define and maintain business objectives, technical requirements, and guide solution design decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating across technical and business teams.
- Vendor Management: Experience working with third-party development and infrastructure vendors.
- Salesforce Product Expertise: Led Salesforce implementation or enhancement projects involving more than one Salesforce product, including Marketing Cloud Engagement, Data Cloud, Agentforce, Net Zero Cloud, Slack Enterprise Grid, Tableau, MuleSoft, Commerce Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud.
- Environment & Release Management: Experience coordinating releases across sandbox and production environments, planning and managing release schedules in collaboration with development, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely deployments.
- Security & Compliance: Awareness of data protection, privacy regulations, and security best practices within enterprise SaaS platforms. Experience working on projects subject to compliance requirements is highly desirable.
- Tools: Strong familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Methodologies: Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including both Waterfall and Agile principles, and experience managing projects using user stories and sprints.
- Outgoing & Flexible: Must be positive and outgoing, able to work across a complex, global organization and build relationships with stakeholders. Capable of adapting ways of working to better align with different business areas
- Proactive Attitude: Bring a proactive self-motivated and self-sufficient attitude to the workplace.
- Results-Oriented: Creatively brainstorm to find solutions, high attention to detail and always strive to deliver at an elevated standard.
Must Have:
- Data Management: Familiarity with data governance, integration landscapes, and managing data quality for large-scale data ingestion.
- Third-Party Integrations: Experience managing third-party integrations and product dependencies.
- Vendor Transition: Proven ability to co-manage projects with external vendors and successfully transition responsibilities to internal teams for ongoing operations.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the sports, entertainment, or retail industries is a bonus.
Nice to have:
- Certifications: Relevant Salesforce certifications are a plus.
- DevOps Experience: Experience with DevOps tools (e.g. Copado) is desirable.
