The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Report to and interface with the Vice President Service Delivery to identify resources required for project success.
  • Engage with members of Technical Assent’s Finance, Growth, and Capability teams to carry out their responsibilities in managing their portfolio.
  • Work as part of a cohesive Service Delivery team to collaboratively improve Service Delivery at Technical Assent; accountable for exceptional outcomes and client experience while delivering value to the bottom line. 
  • Perform as Project Executive for a Portfolio of projects.
  • Manage multiple BPAs across projects.
  • Oversee Project Managers within the designated Portfolio by providing training, coaching, and/or direct support for project delivery as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and guide Project Managers in designing and executing project plans that adhere to contract terms/conditions and meet client objectives within contract scope.
  • Support and guide Project Managers in creating managing cohesive teams of consultants to execute project plans and realize client outcomes at a high level of quality.
  • Support and guide Project Managers in budget tracking, including monitoring actual budgets against planned budgets, forecasting contract burn where appropriate, and developing strategies to improve financial management of projects when needed.
  • Ensure clarity of tasking amongst project managers and other delivery support staff
  • Independently identify and manage risks with project managers.
  • Lead interactions with government contracting officers and clients, including extremely senior government officials, to discuss project goals, outcomes, and needs; as appropriate, advises government personnel on subject matter relevant to project work and/or contractual matters.
  • Coordinate amongst Project Managers and Portfolio Managers to share information, tools, and techniques that improve client outcomes and foster growth opportunities.
  • Participate in Talent Management activities within their Portfolio to include identifying backfill staffing needs, forecasting staffing needs for organic growth, helping to extend the reach of the talent team’s recruiting efforts, and conducting interviews when needed.
  • Be responsible for business development activities, including capture and proposal development, within the designated portfolio, with a particular emphasis on ensuring that active contracts secure follow-on work and winning additional work within the portfolio as part of Technical Assent’s “organic growth” goals.
  • Develop business partnerships with potential subcontractors and primes to extend our capability. 
  • Develop client and prospect relationships as a trusted advisor/Subject Matter Expert through well-researched recommendations. 
  • Mentor and facilitate Project Managers and project staff in lending their subject matter and project management expertise to the business development team when there has been a request for help on a “new growth” pursuit. 
  • Increase contribution margin of awarded engagements by building and maintaining organizational capabilities (tools, technology, talent) that reliably and consistently deliver high-quality services. 
  • Mentor others and shares knowledge, expertise, and experience through writing and speaking 8-12 times per year. 
  • Maintain a professional demeanor that is consistent with Technical Assent core values at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in government consulting
  • Experience managing projects according to PMBOK best practices and principles.
  • Experience managing BPAs
  • Experience managing large government IDIQs worth $10m or larger.
  • Experience managing consulting engagements that encompass one or more of the following disciplines: Service Design, Customer Experience, Employee Experience, Human Centered Design, or Business Process Improvement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government contract types (fixed price, labor hour, time and material) and how to manage projects effectively within each structure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing government and industry partner stakeholders to support project execution of contracts and projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) for executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Human-Centered Design, design thinking, and/or service design background
  • Experience consulting for the Federal government
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)

Job Location and Travel Expectations:

  • This position is remote. Some travel (<25%) is anticipated.
  • Some meetings will be conducted on-site with customers in Washington, D.C.
