Project Overview:

You will play a key role in program oversight and people management for a project with one of our Federal Government clients focused on improving the employee experience.

Responsibilities:

Program Oversight and Management Support

  • Assist the Program Manager in planning, executing, and managing consulting projects.
  • Develop detailed work plans, timelines, and deliverables aligned with client requirements and program objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with government regulations, policies, and client expectations.
  • Identify risks and challenges specific to government consulting engagements, including compliance, funding, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Develop and execute mitigation strategies to minimize program disruptions and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure program activities adhere to government regulations, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
  • Monitor deliverables to meet quality benchmarks and ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Assist in managing the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to deliver high-value outcomes for government clients.
  • Track resource allocation and provide recommendations for optimizing team and material utilization.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration across multidisciplinary groups.
  • Mentor and support team members in delivering high-quality consulting services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact in the Program Manager’s absence.

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate with clients to assess current state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop innovative service delivery models.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews to gather insights and inform service design solutions.
  • Lead efforts to design, prototype, and implement solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness through.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government clients, ensuring consistent communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and feedback promptly to maintain satisfaction and trust.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for government stakeholders, synthesizing findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of program activities, decisions, and deliverables.

Business Development Support

  • Assist the Program Manager and Portfolio Director in identifying opportunities for additional consulting engagements with government clients.
  • Contribute to proposal development and support the pursuit and capture of new contracts.

Management Consultant Responsibilities

  • Leads services and/or projects that deliver client outcomes.
  • May also lead work streams within complex services and/or projects.
  • Builds and maintains trusted advisor relationships with clients by seeing project outputs and outcomes in the context of client mission and outcomes and leading production of high quality deliverables.
  • Leads entire teams to plan task timelines and directs allocation of staff support to complete tasks.
  • Mentors others in developing and applying knowledge, skills, and abilities with core Capability Area(s) and professional expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project development, implementation, and management
  • 4+ years of management consulting experience, preferably Federal Government Consulting
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
  • Ability to lead workstreams and provide mentorship and coaching support
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including scope, schedule, and risk management.
  • Experience in budget management, resource planning, and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with customer experience, employee experience, and/or employee engagement
  • Experience with strategic communications and facilitation
  • Experience with measurement and evaluation
  • Experience with the the Department of Veterans Affairs
