ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking a Senior Associate, Business Development for Pennsylvania to join our team in-office full time out of our Princeton, NJ location. This individual will focus on driving business growth, cultivating client relationships, and supporting strategic pursuits primarily in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience working with state and regional agencies, including NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, NJ Transit, and Pennsylvania DOT, and will play a key role in expanding our footprint in the Philadelphia region, with traveling to Philadelphia a few times a week when needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with public agency clients, including NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, NJ Transit, Pennsylvania DOT, and other regional authorities.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in transportation, infrastructure, and civil engineering markets.
- Lead and coordinate proposal development, including technical and cost submissions, ensuring compliance with agency requirements and deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, project management, and operations) to align business development strategies with company capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends, upcoming projects, and policy developments to inform strategic planning.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities in both New Jersey and the Philadelphia region.
- Support client retention efforts through regular engagement and understanding of evolving client needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business development or client relations within transportation, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors.
- Proven experience working with public agencies such as NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, NJ Transit, Pennsylvania DOT, or similar.
- Strong understanding of government contracting processes, RFPs, and procurement procedures.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally to the Philadelphia region for client meetings and project pursuits.
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a track record of achieving business development goals.

The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey is $150,000 - $200,000 per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
