ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support capital program delivery through accurate cost development and lifecycle estimating. This role is responsible for producing detailed, defensible cost estimates that support planning, budgeting, and execution of complex infrastructure projects. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, and program teams to align scope, schedule, and resource assumptions, ensuring projects are properly scoped and financially viable from early planning through construction. This position plays a critical role in identifying cost risks, supporting forecasting efforts, and contributing to overall program efficiency and on-time, on-budget delivery.Describe the role and team the candidate will be joining
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and review detailed cost estimates across all project phases, from conceptual through final design
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost modeling, and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
- Support budget development, cost loading, and forecasting activities
- Analyze cost trends, historical data, and market conditions to inform estimates
- Identify cost risks, assumptions, and opportunities for value engineering
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment between scope, schedule, and cost
- Prepare estimate documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
- 7–10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or transit projects
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Proficiency with estimating tools and advanced Excel modeling
- Experience with public agency or transit-related work (e.g., MTA, DOT, rail) strongly preferred

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $40 - $85 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
