ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking a Senior Document Control Specialist to support a high profile, large scale infrastructure program within a fast paced program management environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and flow of project documentation across multiple contracts, stakeholders, and phases of delivery.
You will be responsible for managing document control processes across a complex, multi package construction effort involving extensive coordination between engineering, construction, and program leadership teams. This includes oversight of document workflows, version control, and compliance with strict standards and procedures required for major public infrastructure programs.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, understands the importance of precision and accountability, and can confidently manage large volumes of technical documentation while supporting high visibility project teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Manage and maintain document control systems to ensure accurate tracking, filing, and retrieval of all project documentation

Oversee document workflows including submittals, RFIs, transmittals, drawings, specifications, and reports across multiple contracts and teams

Ensure strict version control and document accuracy throughout the lifecycle of project documentation

Coordinate with engineering, construction, and program management teams to ensure timely processing and distribution of documents

Maintain document registers, logs, and tracking systems to support reporting and audit readiness

Support implementation and enforcement of document control procedures, standards, and naming conventions

Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements

Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to document status, outstanding items, and workflow performance

Train and support junior staff or project team members on document control processes and systems

Serve as a key point of contact for document related coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in document control within heavy civil, infrastructure, or large scale construction environments

Strong experience managing documentation across complex, multi contract programs with high volume workflows

Proficiency with document management systems such as Aconex, eBuilder, SharePoint, Procore, or similar platforms

Deep understanding of document control processes including submittals, RFIs, transmittals, and revision tracking

Experience working within structured program environments with strict compliance and audit requirements

Strong organizational and attention to detail skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams

Experience supporting projects involving major transportation agencies such as the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, New Jersey Transit, or similar entities is highly preferred

Ability to work onsite in New Jersey and support a highly collaborative, fast paced project environment

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $40 - $65 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
