ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking an Office Engineer/Inspector to support a transportation infrastructure rehabilitation project in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will provide a blend of field inspection and office engineering support, ensuring construction activities are properly documented, coordinated, and executed in accordance with project requirements.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting transportation or bridge rehabilitation projects and a strong understanding of construction administration processes within an active transit environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide day-to-day field inspection and office engineering support throughout construction activities.
- Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain daily reports, inspection logs, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives to track progress and resolve issues.
- Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other construction-related documentation.
- Assist with quantity tracking, schedule monitoring, and progress reporting.
- Support construction meetings and maintain accurate project records throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Verify installed work and document any deficiencies or non-conforming conditions.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including punch list coordination and final documentation turnover.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience supporting transportation, bridge, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Previous experience serving as an Office Engineer, Inspector, or a hybrid OE/Inspector role.
- Prior NJ TRANSIT experience is required.
- Strong understanding of construction administration, documentation, and inspection procedures.
- Experience reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contractor documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, project teams, and client representatives.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction management software is a plus.
- Ability to work both in the field and in an office environment as project needs dictate.

The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey is $50 - $65 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
